- 2021 Street Resurfacing Project
The City’s general contractor, Ghilotti Brothers, Inc., completed the 2021 Street Resurfacing Project in August of 2021. This Project provided for a pavement resurface treatment on selected streets within one residential neighborhood in the City. Project highlights include:
• Used 6,661 tons of HMA overlay on 20 residential streets
• Installed 10 new ADA compliant curb ramps on residential streets
• Repaired 235 linear feet of curb and gutter
• Updated thermoplastic pavement markings, reflectors and striping on 5 lane miles of project streets
• Re-established 3 iron pipe monuments
All project streets are subject to a five-year street pavement moratorium to manage the pavement degradation from the effects of utility cuts and extend their useful life. This five-year street pavement moratorium will protect the City’s capital investment in streets, the street pavement integrity, ride quality and appearances of new street surfaces. Please contact Ann James, P.E., Maintenance Superintendent, ajames@pleasanthillca.org for additional information.
The 2021 Street Resurfacing Project calls for the resurfacing of one residential neighborhood.
The project is divided into two work phases. Phase I, consists of preparing the streets by repairing potholes, sealing cracks, installing new ADA curb ramps, and limited concrete curb and gutter repair. Once completed, the contractor will proceed with Phase II, providing a final pavement resurface treatment on all of the project streets. Affected residents have received a notification from the City regarding the project schedule. All project work is expected to be completed by the end of May.
