Pleasant Hill Sidewalk Installation Project - Pleasant View to Cumberland

The City’s contractor, J.J.R. Construction, Inc., re-started construction of the Pleasant Hill Road Sidewalk Installation Project (Pleasant View Drive to Cumberland Drive), Project No. 02-21 on Monday, January 3, 2022 after a two week holiday delay. The work includes demolition of existing improvements including concrete curb, gutter, portions of existing concrete driveways, and AC pavement; clearing and grubbing; and sign relocations. New construction will include 3,644 SF of ADA compliant concrete sidewalks and driveways, five new curb ramps, 569 LF curb and gutter, mulch or landscape conforms, new drainage, traffic striping, and asphalt concrete conforms. When complete, the project will complete the last sidewalk gap and provide a continuous pedestrian facility along the west side of Pleasant Hill Road from Oak Park Boulevard and Gregory Lane. The new sidewalk will allow residents living along Pleasant Hill Road to walk safely to the Pleasant Hill Elementary School, as well as the numerous destinations along Oak Park Boulevard. The northern half of the project (between Pleasant View Drive and Hamilton Drive) was completed before the holidays. The contractor anticipates that the southern half of the project (between Hamilton Drive and Cumberland Drive) will be complete by the end of January 2022.
