PG&E Projects

2nd Avenue South & Flame Drive

This project involves installation of 2,190’ of replacement 4” gas main, 4,630’ of 2” gas main, and replacement or transfer of about 130 customer gas services to the new mains. Work started at Camelback Road, and will also take place on Flame Drive, 2nd Avenue South, Topsail Court, Shadowood Drive, Camelback Place, Spar Court, Jib Court and Lupine Lane. The contractor doing this work under PG&E’s oversight is Miller Pipeline. The work requires potholing to locate existing utilities, trenching along roadways to install new gas facilities, replacing gas services, and backfilling, compacting and re-paving trenches.

Construction hours are expected to be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Crews will provide daily traffic controls. At times, there will be two-way single-lane traffic controls and motorists should always follow flaggers instructions. Motorists should expect some minor delays when driving through the work area and access to driveways may be temporarily impacted. Residents should also expect the temporary placement of construction materials and equipment around the work area. As a reminder, the asphalt paving placed daily at the jobsite is temporary and is designed to provide a safe road surface during the construction period. Final site restoration and paving will take place near the end of the project.
