This nine-member commission advises the City Council on events and programs that improve the quality of life for residents in Pleasant Hill. At least seven of the members must be residents of the city. Up to two members may be business persons, with a business in Pleasant Hill, who are nonresidents, or persons living outside the corporate limits but within the city’s sphere of influence.
The Commission organizes events that occur during the year, such as the Sunset by the Lake Summer Concert Series, and Community Service Day, a citywide event involving many hundreds of community volunteers.
Additionally, the Commission's Diversity subcommittee works to present Community Conversations, a periodic zoom seminar that covers different areas of Diversity, Equality, and Social Justice.
