The City Attorney provides legal advice to the City Council, City Manager, City Commissions, and city staff.
The City Attorney also prepares and reviews ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other official documents presented for City Council approval.
The City Attorney represents the City in litigation filed by or against the City and manages the City’s risk management (claims) functions.
